Our team strives to provide a wonderful golf experience to our members and guests. Excellence is one of our top priorities – that’s why we have a full staff of PGA Professionals that are here to provide a high standard of customer service and private and group instruction.

Dan Capozzi, PGA

General Manager & Director of Golf

Dan joined the Williamsburg Golf Club Executive Team in 2011 under the leadership of owner, Dwight Schaubach. His industry experience has included positions at some of the finest private golf facilities on the East Coast including Diamond Creek Golf Club, Floridian National Golf Club, and North Ridge Country Club.  Dan’s knowledge and passion of the private golf club business has been an integral part in the development of Williamsburg Golf Club. In 2019, owner Dwight Schaubach, finalized the purchase of Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club, “Home of The Eastern Amateur”, where Dan will assume the same role as Director of Golf & General Manager, and assist in leading the development and restoration of that historic facility.

Dan is a Class-A member of the PGA of America, Southern Chapter President of the Middle Atlantic PGA Board of Directors, and Chairman on the Section Sponsorship Committee. Dan also serves as a Director of the Jimmye Laycock Charity Foundation and Co-Chairman of the Eastern Amateur Championship.  He is a graduate of the Campbell University PGA PGM Program and has a degree in Business. He is originally from Boston, MA and is an avid fan of Boston sports. Dan currently resides in Williamsburg with his wife Amanda.

Dave Martin, PGA

Head Professional and Membership Director

Dave has been the Head Golf Professional at Elizabeth Manor since May of 2019. He was an Assistant Professional at Elizabeth Manor from 2004 to 2011. Dave has been a Class A member of the PGA since 2013. Dave is an accomplished instructor and enjoys growing the game. Outside of work he enjoys snowboarding, and playing golf with his son.

Tim Poland, PGA

Assistant Golf Professional

Tim has been a member of the Williamsburg Golf Club Professional staff since 2007. He is a Quarter Century member of the PGA of America and was recently inducted into the Gloucester High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Tim is an accomplished player and instructor and has been a well known professional locally for years. Outside of golf Tim studied Karate for 11 Years and earned a 3rd degree Black Belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate. He also enjoys playing guitar and bass and performing with the W Band.

Tim Doran, CGCS

Director of Golf Course Maintenance

Tim will oversee both the golf course and grounds maintenance programs.  Prior to Elizabeth Manor Tim served as Golf Course Superintendent at Kingsmill Resort for 3 years as well as Princess Anne Country Club for 3 years.  He has also served as Senior Assistant Superintendent at both Ballyneal Golf Club in Colorado and Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio (both top 100 courses) and was a student intern at Valhalla Golf Club (another top 100 course).  He has hosted 2 LPGA tournaments at Kingsmill and has volunteered at numerous USGA & PGA Championships, as well as top amateur events.  Some of these include the Ryder Cup, Senior PGA Championship, Wells Fargo Championship, US Amateur Qualifiers, and the Crump Cup.  Tim also serves on the board of both the Tidewater Turfgrass Association (TTA) and the Virginia Golf Course Superintendent’s Association (VGCSA).
